At least five persons were killed and another critically injured during wee hours on Monday when the car in which they were travelling rammed into a stationary truck parked on the highway-side near Kendrapara town.
The mishap took place at around 2.30 am near Aaanlabanka Chowk on the Paradip-Daitary expressway.
Four of the deceased have been identified as Rajesh Jena, Debashis Sethy, Harekrushna Sahu and Deepak Dhal. Identity of another deceased is yet to be established.
The critically injured person was shifted to SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack.
